The Allure of Hershey
Chocolate
Recently, my husband and I, along with
a couple of friends took a trip to the 'Sweetest Place On
Earth. Most of you who are chocolate lovers already know
where this place is and right now I am envisioning your eyes
brightening up as I talk about Hershey's Chocolate World in
Hershey, Pennsylvania.
But first, a couple of interesting
facts about this dark lady. Did you ever wonder who invented
it? Although chocolate has been around a long, long time the
Fry family is most accredited with turning it into bars and
using it as a candy treat.
There's More to Chocolate than a
Fruit Dipping Soup
Many people don't realize there are
amazing health benefits for chocoloate lovers including
calcium from the milky kind and less fat in the darker
candy. It even acts as an antioxidant to help with
cholesterol in some cases. Of course, you still need to
watch the sugars.
Now... Back to Our Hershey
Chocoalte Factory Story
When we pulled up in the parking lot,
Sara and I were like little kids getting ready to take a
magical adventure. And we did!!!
Great American Tour
Bill, Ronnie, Sara and I started our
visit off by taking a free chocolate tour ride, which began
in a tropical rain forest where the cocoa beans grew and
concluded in the chocolate factory where everyone was given
a Hershey's free sample candy.
Chocolate, Chocolate and More
Chocolate
We soon found out after we finished
the tour why we were given just enough free samples to get
our taste buds going. The only way out was through the
marketplace shops. This was a dream come true, especially
for my friend Sara, who is an avid shopper.
Here your imagination can run wild
while searching for that special candy bar or homemade
fudge. You can also shop for special gifts and souvenirs for
family and friends back home who have a sweet
tooth.
You must take the time to create your
own Hershey candy bar personalized wrapper or make a
chocolate greeting card for that special while visiting
Factory Works. .
Before you indulge in too much
chocolate, you may want to take a break and enjoy some of
the delicious food in the Courtyard Cafe. On the menu here,
you have a choice of soups, salads, sandwiches and much
more. And of course, you'll find a large selection of highly
pleasing chocolate desserts.
Thank You Mr.
Hershey
Yes, taking a trip to Hershey's
Chocolate World was quite an adventure and I can't wait to
go back and take my grand kids. If you would love to go, but
can't find the time right now, the good news is that they
are open all year long and offer special events for the
entire family every season. So gather up your friends and
family for a magical holiday you'll never forget.
