I love those gourmet apples like Mrs. Prindables and others, but how do you make them at home? Specifically, what type of chocolate should be used? I assume that the cake and candy section of craft stores would have this stuff, but I’d like some advice from those experienced in makes these treats.

I have a recipe for chocolate sweet but it doesn’t say how long you are supposed to cook (bake?) it. Here’s the recipe:

Chocolate sweet – (Glykisma me sokolata)
INGREDIENTS

160 gr chocolate, grinded 160 gr almonds, cleaned and mashed with a mortar 160 gr sugar 4 egg whites, beaten to make a marengue

METHOD
Mix all ingredients well. Pour the mixture into a buttered baking pan and bake in moderate oven.

I have already figured out that a moderate oven is at 350 degrees, but if someone could tell me how long to bake it, I would appreciate it.

I was planning on shipping chocolate as holiday gifts to friends, mainly in bar form. Does anyone know if there are packaging regulations I should be aware of for shipping food?

Also, How should the chocolate be packed? Does anyone think there would be a melting concern if it is being shipped in the northern US? I’m worried about it sitting in a toasty post office somewhere?

Anyone have an experience shipping chocolate?

What really bugging you when using chocolate for your cake,dessert or recipe.

I want to make something chocolately, but the only ingredients I have with chocolate are cocoa powder and unsweetened chocolate baking squares. What can I bake with this? Please post recipes that you’ve tried and liked! Thanks!!

Please clarify if it was regular chocolate or truffles and if possible, compare to other chocolates. Im considering sending it out of state as a gift.
